I am a licensed psychotherapist with many years of experience in the field of mental health. I have successfully treated hundreds — perhaps thousands — of individuals struggling with a wide array of different issues. I have worked with all ages, with the bulk of my experience being with adults and adolescents.
In 1995, I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Psychology, with a dual minor in Sociology and English Language and Literature from Eastern Michigan University.
In 1999, I graduated with my Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan, and in 2001, became a fully licensed clinician.
I’m presently in the process of obtaining a post-graduate specialty certificate through the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in Veterinary Social Work/Therapy. In addition, I am nationally certified by EMDRIA in EMDR therapy (Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing).
I have been featured in local publications, radio shows, television shows, and been a guest speaker, focusing in on my areas of specialization: Eating Disorders, Bullying, Grief and Loss, and Attention Deficit Disorders. However, this is by no means all that I work with. I have worked with a multitude of different issues.
I offer both face to face therapy and phone sessions. I have advanced training in Eating Disorders, Substance Abuse, EMFT (Emotionally Focused Treatment for Couples), as well as Sports Psychology.
I am EMDR trained, and working towards national certification, and am a certified trauma professional as well.
I offer a warm and empathic approach to working with my clientele, along with a Solution Focused treatment style, that not only helps my clients to feel understood, but that they are truly working towards the goals that are established in treatment.
